SCLogicFAQ
PLAIN ANSWERS.
GENERAL
What does SCLogic do?
SCLogic builds custom software and CRM systems, AI and automation, websites, Excel tools, SQL and data work and integrations around the way a business already works. I start with your process and build only what fits it.
Do I have to replace the systems I already use?
Usually not. Most businesses need what they already have to talk to each other, so I connect existing systems such as email, your website, a CRM, accounts, spreadsheets and ERP rather than replacing them.
How is AI used?
For specific jobs: reading, sorting, summarising, drafting and answering. Each one works from your own data, with a person responsible for the outcome, and anything uncertain goes to a person for review.
Do you use templates?
No. I design around your process, so nothing is forced into a template that almost fits.
Do you build CRM systems?
Yes. A custom CRM is a system for customers, conversations and next steps, built around how you sell and support rather than a generic template.
Where are you based, and who do you work with?
I am based in Cwmbran, South Wales. I work in person with businesses across South Wales and South and South West England, and remotely with clients anywhere.
How do we get started?
Tell me what you are trying to fix. A short message is enough, no budget is needed, and I come back with questions rather than a sales pitch.
CUSTOM SOFTWARE & CRM
Do you build CRM systems?
Yes. A custom CRM is built around how you sell and support, with your stages, your fields and your reports, rather than a generic template.
How is a custom CRM different from an off-the-shelf one?
Off-the-shelf CRMs are built for everybody, so they fit nobody exactly. A custom CRM is built around the information you hold, the people who use it and the steps your work goes through.
Do I need a big platform?
Often not. I build what your process needs and keep everything around it simple, connecting to the systems you already use rather than replacing them.
Will I be left stuck after launch?
No. Documentation and access are handed over, and a plan for support after launch is agreed with you.
How is it built?
Designed first, so you see what is proposed before it is built, then built in small working steps so you react to something real.
AI & AUTOMATION
Where does AI save the most time?
On reading, sorting, summarising, drafting and answering: emails and enquiries, documents and forms, call notes and customer records.
Can the AI make mistakes?
Yes, which is why every value it extracts carries a confidence, and anything below the line goes to a person for review instead of straight into your records. A log keeps every input, output and decision.
Does it work from my own data?
Yes. It works from your information, inside the systems you already have, with access agreed with you first.
Where do we start?
With a single, clearly defined job rather than an AI strategy. The result is then compared with how the job was done before.
What is worth automating?
Anything done the same way more than a few times a week: entering data, sending updates, chasing approvals and building reports.
What happens when something goes wrong?
Failures are logged and flagged, never silent. Cases that need a person are routed to one, with the context they need.
WEBSITES
Is the website really bespoke?
Yes. Every site is designed and built from scratch around your business, whatever its size or sector. I do not start from a template or a theme.
Do I need a content management system?
Often not. Most small business sites need a handful of well-made pages. Where you need to update content regularly, a simple way to do it is set up that does not depend on me.
Will the site be accessible?
Yes. Keyboard support, readable type, sufficient contrast and respect for reduced-motion settings are built in from the start.
Will people find it on search engines?
Every page gets semantic markup, a sensible structure, proper metadata, a sitemap and good performance: the basics, done properly.
Can a website do more than show pages?
Yes. Configurators, quote calculators, product selectors and guided flows can answer a visitor’s question on the page instead of in an email.
EXCEL AND SPREADSHEETS
Is a spreadsheet ever the right answer?
Sometimes. Built properly, a workbook is fast and familiar. I say plainly when it is the right tool and when the job has outgrown it.
What is worth automating?
Anything done the same way more than a few times a week: entering data, sending updates, chasing approvals and building reports.
Do you automate everything?
No. The stable, repeatable parts come first, so the gain is quick and safe. The rest goes to a person.
STILL HAVE A QUESTION?
Tell me what you are trying to fix. A short message is enough.
